1. If you have recently moved or changed your address, please come in to update your child’s home address with the front office staff at your student’s school as soon as possible. It is crucial that we have an accurate home address on file for every student.
2. If your student is riding a bus home to a different address (such as to a babysitter or to a relative’s house, for example) than the home address from which that student was picked up by the bus that morning, a parent or guardian MUST contact the school to fill out a bus transfer form.
For our students’ safety, we cannot take a student’s word that he or she will be going to a different address other than their registered home address after school. If a student says that they need to go home to a different address than the home address stated on their bus tag, but the school does not have a bus transfer form on file for that student, the student’s trip home in the afternoon will be delayed while school staff contact his or her guardians and confirm where the child is supposed to go.
3. If your student is in Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st grade, or 2nd grade, an adult MUST be present to receive the student when they arrive at home in the afternoon. If an adult is not present to receive the student, the bus driver will return the student to their school and the student’s parents will be contacted. Multiple such incidents will result in a DFCS referral.
