The Greene County School System (GCSS) and Lake Oconee Academy (LOA) are proud to celebrate their growing partnership, which continues to create new opportunities for students to learn together, build connections, and explore future career and academic pathways. The Greene College & Career Academy (GCCA) received the prestigious Georgia College & Career Academy of the Year Award at the Governor’s Workforce Development Summit this week. This statewide honor recognizes GCCA’s outstanding commitment to student success, innovative programming, strong community partnerships, and a hands-on approach to learning that connects the classroom to the workplace, preparing students for thriving careers and postsecondary opportunities.

The Greene County School System has named Didi Davis the GCSS 2025-2026 District Teacher of the Year. Ms. Davis, GCHS Teacher of the Year, was recognized with the surprise announcement at the school system’s annual Teacher of the Year Banquet honoring her and fellow Teachers of the Year Cheryl Gerber (GCES) and Aleah Callaway (AWCMS).

The Greene County School System is pleased to announce the appointments of Mrs. Priscilla Jones and Dr. Chris Booz as assistant principals at Greene County Elementary School. Both bring a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to supporting students, teachers, and families.
