District 2 - Joe Bashore

Mr. Joe Bashore
District 2

Re-election Year: 2024

Joe Bashore has called Greene County home since moving here at the age of 12. He attended and graduated from Greene County public schools. After graduating from high school, he decided to continue working at Askew Appliance. He began working with the local retail store during his sophomore year of high school.

Joe is married to Denise, and is the owner of Bashore Appliance Repair. Being a business owner affords him the opportunity to meet people from all walks of life and learn from them.

In 1988, Joe became a volunteer fire fighter, and since then has served in many capacities in public safety for the community. He served on the 911 Advisory Board that assisted with getting E911 in Greene County. He also served as a member of the Woodville Fire Department until he moved to Greensboro and joined the Greensboro Fire Department in 1993.

For the last three and a half years, Joe has served as Chief of the Greensboro Fire Department. He has an EMT-I certification, and has worked part-time for more than six years with the local EMS. Joe was vice-president of the Georgia Paint Horse Club for several years, before co-founding the North Georgia Paint Horse Club, where he has served as president for more than 15 years.

Joe’s goal as a member of the Greene County Board of Education is to ensure that every child who lives in Greene County receives a quality education. He plans to work with all systems and branches of government, both city and county, to improve jobs within the county.
