Degrees and Certifications:
Michelle Saarela
Education: Graduated from Longwood University in Virginia with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
Hobbies/Interests: I grew up as a ‘military brat’ and have lived in 6 different states. I consider Georgia my home and have lived here longer than anywhere else. I have recently retired and look forward to more free time to play pickleball, read and participate in local theater. I have been married to Bruce Wayne for 13 years and am ‘bonus’ grandma to 5 grandkids.
Career: Right out of college I was in a Retail Management program for a couple of years. When I moved to GA, I started working with computers and I was in the Information Technology field for 39 years in various Sales Support, Business Analyst and Project Manager, Training/Implementation positions. I retired from WestRock Company based in Atlanta in July, after 24 years. I enjoyed being with a company that more than doubled in size and gave me the opportunity to work with lots of different levels of people and travel around the country to our different locations.
Note to Students: Be and think positive!! “Successful people are ORDINARY people with EXTRAORDINARY determination and willpower.” Have a goal to aim for but know your goal can change along the way. I am so excited to be a part of your journey. You can do what you put your mind to and we will support you along the way! Always make the wise choice.
Note to Parents: I look forward to working with you and your child as they begin their high school chapter of life. This is a very exciting and challenging time. I want to support and encourage you both and look forward to partnering with you.
