Degrees and Certifications:
Education: Majored in economics; completed Bachelor’s degree, and all-but-dissertation for my PhD.
Hobbies/Interests: I'm a happy singer, and a compulsive data analyst.
Career: A few years teaching economics at three different colleges, 15 years as an Economic and Cost Analyst, and 15 years helping others do economic and cost analysis.
Note to students: (Except for the part about working hard and listening to my parents… I didn't follow this advice. I wish I had.) Have both short-term and long-term life and career goals and have a plan for reaching them. Work hard to reach those goals but be willing to change them in the face of new information or greater self-awareness. And take advantage of the knowledge and experience of family, friends, teachers--and even your Career Coach--to help you identify and achieve a fulfilling life and a rewarding career.
Note to parents: It is my honor to be a small part of the support system put in place to help your child achieve fulfillment and success in their life and career. I had a good career, have a good life, and hope to pay some of my blessings forward to your child. For those of you I haven't met, I hope that will change in the near future.
