Ms. Jessie Draper, Assistant Principal
Ms. Jessie Draper’s journey the field of education began as a student teacher at Greene County Comprehensive High School in January of 2000 and she never looked back. After receiving her B.S. Ed. in Biology Education in 2000 from the University of Georgia, she taught biology, physical science, and genetics in Fulton County. She then took some time away from the high school setting to pursue her M.A. Ed. in Science Education with an emphasis in entomology and then her specialist in Science Education with an emphasis in evolutionary biology and qualitative research, both at the University of Georgia. She also worked in the areas of instructional technology, science teacher induction, and qualitative research. From there, Ms. Draper returned to high school public education and has been fortunate enough to serve DeKalb, Bibb, Houston, Clarke, and Greene Counties. Ms. Draper’s roles have been that of biology teacher, science department chair, instructional coach, academic, attendance, and behavior intervention coordinator, and currently, assistant principal. She feels lucky to be able to call Greene County High School home once again. Once a Tiger, always a Tiger!
Ms. Draper spends her free time with family and friends. She also has 2 pets: a cat, Nona, and the sweetest Chihuahua in the universe, Sheldon. Her hobbies include hiking, traveling, trivia, and attending music and arts events. Her all-time favorite college team is the Georgia Bulldogs and Saturdays in the fall are reserved for college football. She enjoys alternative and indie rock music, and reading both education-related publications, as well as fictional psychological thrillers. She enjoys watching documentaries, dramas, suspense/thrillers, and comedies.
Ms. Draper has been fortunate enough to live an exciting and varied life and looks forward to what the future holds both personally and professionally.
