The Greene County School System (GCSS) Teachers of the Year (TOTY) program recognizes highly-qualified, licensed exemplary teachers who have a strong long-range potential for leadership and the ability to
inspire, educate, challenge
, and
support
learning in students. They serve as educational ambassadors, and act as advocates for the school system, its students, and its teachers.
The school level “Teachers of the Year” are chosen annually by their peers. This elite group of educators undergo intense interviews as part of the selection process in naming the overall district’s “Teacher of the Year.” The district’s “Teacher of the Year” moves on to represent the entire school district at the state-wide “Georgia’s Teacher of the Year” awards program.
